RX WAGE AGREEMENT IMPLEMENTATION – FIRST PHASE

In accordance with the terms of the RX Contract, payments required within 90 days of ratification are scheduled to be completed by November 10, 1999. The specific provisions to be paid within the 90 days (November 18, 1999) include:

Open-Range Employees –

  1. RX covered employees (career and casual employees in open-ranges) with a salary below the range minimum who meet the eligibility requirements for the November 1, 1997 and/or October 1, 1998 increase(s) will receive adjustments to the new minimum. This will be effective September 1, 1999 for employees on a monthly payroll cycle and September 4, 1999 for employees on a biweekly payroll cycle. These increases will be reflected in the November 1, 1999 check for monthly paid employees and on November 10, 1999 for employees paid biweekly. Retroactivity for September, 1999 will be paid to career and casual employees November 10, 1999.

  2. Career RX employees in open ranges that meet the eligibility requirements under the terms of the contract who were non-probationary on the November 1, 1997 and/or October 1, 1998 merit eligibility date will receive a 4 percent across-the-board increase to their base for the 1997-98 merit and a 3.5 percent for the 1998-99 merit. These increases are effective September 1, 1999. The increase will be reflected in the November 1, 1999 monthly paycheck. Retroactivity for September will be paid on November 10, 1999.

  3. Career RX employees in open ranges that meet the eligibility requirements under the terms of the contract who were non-probationary on October 1, 1999 are eligible for a merit increase in accordance with campus merit guidelines. These increases are effective October 1, 1999 and will be reflected in the November 1, 1999 monthly paycheck.

  4. Employees awarded 1997-98 and 1998-99 Incentive Awards that have not been paid shall receive payment on November 10, 1999.

     

  5. Casual RX open-range employees whose salaries are 2% or more above the range minimum subsequent to the 1998-99 range adjustment, shall receive a $300 lump sum payment. Under the terms of the contract the amount is proportional to the percent appointment in the unit at the time the check is drawn. The 1999-00 Incentive Award Pool of dollars will be reduced by the corresponding amount of total lump sums paid to open-range casuals as provided by the negotiated agreement. Eligible casual employees will receive the lump sum payment on the November 10, 1999 biweekly paycheck.

  6. Open-range casuals who were in casual positions in the unit as of September, 1997 with a break in service of no more than 30 days and who were not reappointed at a rate of pay of at least 2% or more are eligible for a one-time signing bonus. Part-time employees shall receive a signing bonus proportionate to the employee’s current percentage of appointment. Bonuses for full-time employees are as follows:

      Sr. Museum Scientist $664.92

      Museum Scientist $549.54

      SRA II $534.78

      SRA III $634.32

      SRA IV $736.92

    Eligible open-range casuals will receive the signing bonus in the biweekly paycheck of November 10, 1999.

  7. The second phase of the RX Wage Agreement implementation covers employees in step based titles. Watch the home page for information regarding the steps and payment dates. The third phase of the RX Wage Agreement implementation provides for retroactive lump sums for employees meeting the eligibility requirements under the agreement.
