RX WAGE AGREEMENT IMPLEMENTATION – SECOND PHASE

In accordance with the terms of the RX Contract, payments required within 120 days of ratification are scheduled to be completed by December 8, 1999. The specific provisions to be paid within 120 days (December 18, 1999) include:

Step-Based Employees –

  1. RX covered employees who meet the eligibility requirements (career and casual employees in step-based titles) for the 2% range adjustments on November 1, 1997 and October 1, 1998 received these adjustments to their base salaries on September 1, 1999 for the monthly payroll cycle and August 22, 1999 for the biweekly payroll cycle. These range adjustments will be reflected in the December 1, 1999, check for monthly paid employees and November 24, 1999 for employees paid biweekly. Retroactivity to September 1, 1999 and August 22, 1999 will be paid to career and casual employees on December 8, 1999.

  2. Eligible, career, non-probationary, step-based employees, with a merit eligibility date of either July 1, 1997 or January 1, 1998 shall receive a within-range merit increase in accordance with the 6-month delay schedule (January 1, 1998 and July 1, 1998 respectively) and in accordance with prior campus practice. Merit increases will be awarded to eligible employees whose performance was rated or assumed to be satisfactory or better. These merit increases will be effective September 1, 1999. Retroactivity for September and October will be reflected in paychecks as indicated in "1" above.

  3. Eligible, career, non-probationary, step-based employees with a merit eligibility date of July 1, 1998 shall receive a within-range merit increase in accordance with the 6-month delay schedule (January 1, 1999) and in accordance with prior campus practice. Merit increases will be awarded to eligible employees whose performance was rated or assumed to be satisfactory or better. These merit increases will be effective September 1, 1999. Merit increases and retroactivity for September and October will be reflected in paychecks as indicated in "1" above.

  4. All employees will receive a 2% range adjustment effective October 1, 1999 for monthly paid employees and October 3, 1999 for biweekly paid employees. The increase will be reflected in the December 1, 1999 check for monthly paid employees and the November 24, 1999 for employees paid biweekly.

  5. All career employees in the unit will move to a single merit date of October 1. Effective October 1, 1999, non-probationary, step-based career employees who would otherwise be eligible for a January 1, 1999 merit (delayed to July 1, 1999) and employees newly employed in the unit on or before February 1, 1999 shall be eligible for a within-range merit increase in accordance with prior campus practice. Increases will be reflected in the December 1, 1999 check. Retroactivity to October 1, 1999 will be reflected in a December 8, 1999, check.

  6. Employees formerly eligible for a January 1, 1999 merit (delayed to July 1, 1999) shall receive a one-time, non-base building lump sum payment of $300 for the additional delay to October 1, 1999. The $300 payment will be reflected in a December 8, 1999 check.

  7. The third phase of the RX Wage Agreement implementation provides for retroactive lump sums for employees who meet the eligibility requirements under the terms of the agreement. Watch the HR Home Page for information regarding the steps and payment dates.
