Short-Term, Emergency-Based Staff Housing Support

The Staff Housing Assistance program offers emergency funding for UCI staff who are experiencing acute/urgent incident-based temporary supplemental housing support to put or keep a roof over the heads of UCI's valued employees who are undergoing severe and unforeseeable circumstances.

If you are at risk of losing your current housing, please attach a copy of your latest eviction notice or Notice of Foreclosure to support your request.

PURPOSE

To provide emergency acute/urgent incident-based temporary supplemental housing support. Examples of financial hardship causes include:

• Job reduction or loss of secondary income (self)
• Job reduction or loss of secondary income (partner, or household support)
• Personal/Familial catastrophe
• Transition to housing (from unhoused situation)

Ineligible causes:

• General inflation/cost of living increases

AID PROVIDES SUPPORT TOWARDS PAYMENT OF:

• Rent
• Mortgage
• Security deposit to secure rental

RESTRICTIONS

Not to be used towards a down payment of housing purchase

• Availability of funding is limited and not guaranteed
• Eligibility does not guarantee funding

• Financial support received through this program will be treated as taxable income
