Counseling/Support

Confidential counseling and support services are available to help employees navigate life’s challenges and maintain emotional wellbeing.

Free, confidential counseling and support available 24/7 for UCI employees and their families through ComPsych® GuidanceResources®. Speak with licensed professionals by phone or schedule in-person or virtual sessions. Services include short-term counseling, legal and financial consultations, and referrals for ongoing care. Specialized mental health consultation and support for UCI and UCI Health employees. Services include individual support sessions, critical incident support, departmental consultations, and wellbeing workshops — all provided by a licensed clinical psychologist familiar with workplace and academic environments. Education/Training

Workshops and trainings to build skills, increase awareness, and support a culture of mental health and wellbeing in the workplace.

An evidence-based, nationally recognized training that teaches participants how to recognize the signs of mental health or substance use challenges, offer support, and connect people with resources. Free, live and on-demand webinars covering a wide range of topics including stress management, parenting, grief, resilience, and more. Webinars are available to all UCI employees and their families. A representative from the HR Wellness team can provide a presentation on all available wellness resources to help support the holistic wellbeing of units/teams.
Interactive workshops facilitated by licensed mental health professionals on topics such as trauma-informed care, navigating mental health conversations, burnout and compassion fatigue, suicide prevention, and creating a supportive workplace culture.
