The UC Office of the President has confirmed that all UC locations will implement a July 1, 2023, salary increase budget of 4.6% for policy covered staff. Implementation of the program is contingent upon approval of the 5% allocation currently in the State budget. Budget approval is expected mid-June. Although this year’s salary program is not a merit program where performance is a consideration related to the salary increase amount, the importance of the annual performance review process should not be discounted. All policy covered staff employees should continue to participate in the ACHIEVE performance check-ins.
Increases for SMG and Non-SMG policy covered staff whose total cash compensation exceeds the current Indexed Compensation Level will be processed in accordance with guidelines established by UCOP.
Employees in classifications currently the subject of a unit modification petition that are accreted into a bargaining unit on or before July 1, 2023 will receive increases pursuant to the applicable collective bargaining agreement and not under the policy covered salary increase program.
Employees should go to their immediate manager/supervisor with questions or concerns. If an employee has a concern that their manager/supervisor can not address, employees should contact their Campus HR Business Partner, Health Sciences HR Business Partner or Medical Center HR Business Partner.
